Kylee D. Miller

Associate

Kylee D. Miller has spent a career protecting injured people. She is an advocate of labor unions and protecting the rights of injured workers. Kylee is an Associate Attorney at Newland and Newland. She has focused on representing the injured and disabled since law school. Born and raised in the Rockford Area, she focuses on an individualized approach for every case. Kylee has a proven track record in arbitrations and appeals before the Illinois Worker’s Compensation. She has argued cases in Circuit Court, County Court, and the Illinois Appellate Court, Workers’ Compensation Division. She has also resolved numerous personal injury claims including car accidents, slips and falls, motorcycle accidents, and bicycle accidents.

She has obtained millions for her clients and several recent results including:

• Workers’ Compensation Claim for a Restaurant Manager: Right ankle injury, slip and fall while working as a manager at a restaurant. Denied benefits after an IME. Multiple surgeries with permanent sedentary restrictions. Settled for $250,000.00.
• Workers’ Compensation Claim for a Carpet Cleaner: Right rotator cuff tear. Was injured while moving a piece of equipment. Initially approved but treatment disputed after concerns of an unrelated neck condition. Initial offer for the case was 5% man as a whole plus payment of some of the medical bills ($20k in total). A week before the trial respondent offered $150,000.00 to settle all issues. Counseled petitioner to proceed to trial to see if we could do even better. Two days before trial settled for $230,000.00.
• Motorcycle Accident: Motorcyclist was hit by a box truck driven by a distracted driver. Significant injuries with loss of work and property damage. Settled for $550,000.00 without the need to file in court.

Kylee attended Keith Country Day School, Clarke University, and Valparaiso University School of Law. In 2015 she obtained her juris doctorate from Valparaiso where she was awarded for her advocacy during moot court. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Winnebago County Bar Association (WCBA) as well as the Young Lawyers’ Division President. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), Illinois Trial Lawyers’ Association (ITLA), and Workers’ Compensation Lawyers’ Association (WCLA).

Kylee is an active participant in the Rockford and surrounding community. Kylee represents the people of Rockford Township as Township Trustee. She was elected in 2025 for a 4-year term. Kylee also serves as a member of the Clarke University Alumni Board.

She has received multiple awards including being named one of the 2024 “People You Should Know” and 2025 “40 under 40” by the Rockford Chamber of Commerce. Kylee was named an Emerging Lawyer in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 by the Leading Lawyers, a peer nominated organization. She was voted as a “What Rocks In Rockford” best personal injury attorney finalist by the Rockford community in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

In her spare time Kylee enjoys playing volleyball at the UW Sports Factory, golfing, and volunteering for the RPS 205 Academy program.
